Frequently Asked Questions

CLOTHING AND PACKING LIST RECOMMENDATIONS:
Kansas often has high winds and coupled with cold December weather can lead to a bitter day. Be sure to pack warm base layers and windproof outer shells like jackets and bibs. We ask that you bring knee boots for the fields and waders for the potholes. Please bring waterproof clothing as our team hunts in all conditions including rain and snow. *If you’re flying and want to confirm whether you need to pack waders, please reach out to us a few days before you are set to arrive*

We have MIGRA for sale at the lodge (BB, and stacked NO. 2/4). In steel shot we recommend NO. 2s for ducks and BBs for geese. If you prefer high density loads we recommend NO. 4s for ducks and NO. 2s for geese. If you have any questions we are happy to assist.

We love our hunting companions just as much as you, and you are welcome to bring your seasoned gun dogs along. For your dog’s safety and the safety of others, guides reserve the right to ask you to return your dog to the truck if he/she is disrupting the hunt or appears to be uncontrollable. Dogs must be crated at night or when they are left unsupervised, no exceptions.

All waterfowl hunters 16 and older must have a Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp (Federal Waterfowl Stamp), and all hunters who are required to obtain a hunting license must also have a Kansas State Waterfowl Stamp and a Kansas Harvest Information Program (HIP) stamp before hunting ducks, geese, or mergansers. (Those not required to have a Kansas hunting license include people hunting their own land, and residents 15 and younger)

Kansas HIP Stamp: $2.50

State Waterfowl Stamp: $10
Federal Waterfowl Stamp: $29.00

Check-in and Check-out
We ask that our hunters arrive the day before their first hunt is scheduled to ensure that the morning hunt isn’t missed, and we are ready to go. We also ask that our hunters are checked out on the day of their last hunt by 11am unless you speak with us and other arrangements have been made. Check-in is 3pm or any time after.

Closest Airport and Transportation
We do recommend renting a vehicle for your party if you choose to fly into Kansas, though it is not required. If you do not wish to rent a vehicle please be sure to disclose that with us so we can arrange transportation to and from the airport. The closest airport is Kansas City, MO, or MCI.
